Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
One quick story about Bali. Go there, if for nothing, then only to meet the locals! The most generous human beings ever!!
We took a ride (with a scooter) from Kuta all the way up to Ulun Danu Temple. Took us around 1.5 hrs (nature all around, just beautiful!). We got there, did the tour, walked around, checked every corner, and met some locals on our way out. So what we visited was 'lakeside temple constructed in honor of Dewi Danu, goddess of the lake that was formed by a volcanic eruption 30,000 years ago.' And it is a holy place for those believers. We've also, on the other side of the road, heard Adhan (Ezan), the call to prayer for those believers. I asked those 2 locals, if on the other side of the road are muslims, and he calmly said to me 'yes sir', so i asked him 'and you guys live together in peace?' Now that look that he gave to me had stopped my pulse for a moment! Just for a moment he was confused with my question, just for the moment he looked at me like he saw an alien, just for a moment, and then he gave me a smile and said 'yes sir, always'. What a beautiful answer!
